As part of our leadership program here at Phoenix, Year 9 and 10 leadership students attended a 3-day camp at the YMCA in Anglesea. Alongside their peers, our student leaders were challenged by activities that took them outside of their comfort zones and into some chilly conditions.

While experiencing canoeing, horse riding, high ropes and the giant swing – attendees were also given opportunities to develop their leadership skills through problem solving, team building and critical thinking tasks. Over the course of the camp, the group went from largely not knowing one another to impressing camp staff with their ability to communicate effectively and work together.

It is very exciting to see what will be next from these students and how we can support them in developing as young people.
